Clayton Porter NOXIOUS EMPIRE

Clayton Porter's first solo exhibition in the spector ripps project space at the Center for Contemporary Arts in Santa Fe explores the trappings of contemporary American culture—consumption, desire, innocence, perversion, and excess. At the core of Noxious Empire are highly charged creatures that represent unfettered desires with their large gaping mouths, multiple appendages, and bulging, enlarged eyes. Some of the characters that dwell in Noxious Empire consist entirely of eyes that covet, mouths that consume, stomachs that digest, and an anus that excretes.

Reception: from 5 - 7 PM in the spector ripps project space at the CCA
